Here are the service project details for Do Good Day 2026. Please look them over and let us know your preferences when registering.
Homeless No More – Participants will help deep-clean and turn over multiple units at St. Lawrence Place, getting them move-in ready to welcome new families in transition.
House of Peace – Participants will help repair and stain the deck, complete some light carpentry repairs around the property, and then share a meal / fellowship with House residents.
Home Works – Participants will repair a home for a senior in need, with potential projects including painting, carpentry, and roofing.
Power In Changing – Participants will work in their warehouse assembling family readiness bags, sorting donated children's items, and packing hygiene kits for local families.
Lutheran Services / New Americans Program – Participants will clean out and organize a storage unit that holds furniture, household supplies, kitchen supplies, and everything needed to outfit an apartment for a newly arriving family.
Family Promise of the Midlands – More details coming soon, but a good project for those looking to do cleaning and light repairs, as well as sorting and packing.
Midlands Orphan Relief – Participants will sort / organize clothing and donations, work on some landscaping projects, and complete a minor plumbing fix to keep the facility a welcoming place for children and families.
Mission Lexington – Participants will deep clean their warehouse Food Pantry, scrape and re-tape the floors, and clean the shelves and walls to create a more welcoming space for neighbors coming through for help.
Sharing God's Love – Participants will assist with a full deep clean, organization, and landscaping of the facility, which may also include some repair or construction work, helping this ministry continue to serve families with excellence.
Ronald McDonald House – Participants will prepare a special breakfast or host an ice cream bar as a treat for the families staying at the House and will also spend time with families playing games and making connections.
Keep the Midlands Beautiful – Participants will take part in their annual Lake/River Sweep, helping clean up a local waterway and protect one of our community's natural resources.
Gamecock CommUnity Shop (USC) – Participants will build an outdoor donation bin for the campus food pantry, giving students a way to give back after hours.
Kid-Friendly On-Site Project (at the church) – Children (preschool and older) and a parent can take part in a family-friendly service experience right at the church. Participants will learn about why we serve, discover organizations that make an impact in our community, and complete hands-on mini projects for them. Examples include repackaging pet food for Mission Lexington, creating birthday bags for Sharing God’s Love, and making prayer blankets for Emmaus community members. There will also be opportunities on-site for adults, including some repairs and updates to the church building and landscaping work outside.
Note: One parent should attend with their child—this is not a drop-off event. Families with two parents are encouraged to have one serve at another site to support adult and student projects.
