Celebrate Irmo's culture and history at the 5th annual event presented by the African American Historical Society of Irmo! Honor the past and inspire the future with praise dance, live music, art, and food.
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is a national holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. It honors the day news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached Texas, the last Confederate state to abolish slavery. Juneteenth is a day of immense cultural significance for African Americans. It's a time to remember the struggles and resilience of their ancestors and celebrate their hard-won freedom. This occasion is a celebration for all Americans to recognize the enduring spirit and triumphs of a community.

Whether you’re new to our church or have been with us for years, this is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other parents who are walking through the same beautiful (and sometimes chaotic!) season of life.
Childcare will be provided, so you can relax, recharge, and enjoy meaningful conversations while your kids are safely cared for in a nurturing environment. We’ll provide dinner for you and your children, and leave plenty of room for new friendships to blossom.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the Japanese art of kokedama- a unique way of displaying plants by wrapping their roots in a ball of soil, encasing it in moss, and securing it with twine. These elegant, low-maintenance arrangements can be hung or placed in a dish, making them a stunning natural addition to any space. This service opportunity on May 31st from 9am-12pm is a family-friendly outreach event for Emmaus Kids, Emmaus Students, and their families. This is not a drop off event; rather, it’s a way for parents and their children to have time to serve alongside one another, meet some other Emmaus families, and have fun! We’ll meet at Sharing God’s Love, where we’ll be accepting donations, sorting donations that came in during the week, restocking shelves, and taking care of other tasks in and around their building. Please register so we know how to best prepare.

On Sunday, February 9th, Emmaus Kids will be collecting canned soup to donate to Sharing God's Love. Kids can bring in their canned soup and place their cans in the container for the team they want to win. Will it be the Eagles or the Chiefs?
