As fall approaches, we’re welcoming the season with creativity and connection. Come enjoy an evening of laughter, community, and crafting as we make fall decor to brighten up our front doors or homes. No experience needed—just bring yourself and a little autumn spirit! Irmo National Night Out is officially happening, and we'd love for you to join us. The event is Tuesday, August 5th from 5:30 - 7:00pm at Moore Park (formerly known as Irmo Community Park). This free annual event enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. The event includes free food, live music, games, prizes, vendors, and more!

In this workshop, you’ll learn the Japanese art of kokedama- a unique way of displaying plants by wrapping their roots in a ball of soil, encasing it in moss, and securing it with twine. This will be an introduction to the world of sourdough. Learn how to tend to your sourdough “starter” and walk through the steps to making a loaf of homemade bread. Juneteenth Celebration in Irmo - June 19, 2025, from 6 - 9 p.m. at Moore Park (7473 Church St., Irmo)

Celebrate Irmo's culture and history at the 5th annual event presented by the African American Historical Society of Irmo! Honor the past and inspire the future with praise dance, live music, art, and food.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is a national holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. It honors the day news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached Texas, the last Confederate state to abolish slavery. Juneteenth is a day of immense cultural significance for African Americans. It's a time to remember the struggles and resilience of their ancestors and celebrate their hard-won freedom. This occasion is a celebration for all Americans to recognize the enduring spirit and triumphs of a community.

Emmaus is a proud sponsor of the event and we encourage everyone to attend!

Women are invited to join a gathering at the church to share about a good book- or bring books you are ready to donate to our future library- or leave with a new book to read. Just one hour to meet new friends! Contact Adrienne Applegate with any questions or register to let her know you plan to attend.

This service opportunity on May 31st from 9am-12pm is a family-friendly outreach event for Emmaus Kids, Emmaus Students, and their families. This is not a drop off event; rather, it’s a way for parents and their children to have time to serve alongside one another, meet some other Emmaus families, and have fun! We’ll meet at Sharing God’s Love, where we’ll be accepting donations, sorting donations that came in during the week, restocking shelves, and taking care of other tasks in and around their building. Please register so we know how to best prepare.

One of the ways we "do" the work of justice is by partnering with MORE Justice, where member congregations work together to empower marginalized people and act powerfully to address serious community wide problems through direct action. We gather for events to listen, research, and offer solutions while holding elected officials accountable.
